Doug was a good son and a good husband to Stella. He was a fine brother to our father, Bill. He was a reliable neighbor in Indian Head and Fort Qu'Appelle and a trusted friend to many.

We will miss Uncle Doug and his sense of humour and wit. We always enjoyed our visits with him and especially the time he guided us through the countryside around Indian Head pointing out family farms and places of interest. We sometimes wondered where he was leading us, but we needn’t have worried. He could have guided us with his eyes closed.
Uncle Doug was very fortunate to have such a good friend in Ruth Bakaluk who was always on hand to keep Uncle Doug company and make sure he had everything he needed.
He missed the love of his life, Stella, and he will now be laid to rest beside her for eternity.
