Obituary of Trent Leonard Brears
BREARS, Trent Leonard
Trent Leonard Brears went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on June 12, 2018 at the age of 50 years. He was a gentle man, a loving husband who went above and beyond, and a loving father whose children meant the world to him. Trent was predeceased by his first wife, Bonnie (nee Day), his parents-in-law Art and Peggy Day and his nephew Sean Yemen. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Liberty; daughter Erica (John) and grandson Lennox; sons Bryce (Jill) and Gabriel. He will also be forever remembered by his father and mother Paul and Judy Brears; brothers Carey Brears and Jeff Brears (Jacqui); father-in-law and mother-in-law Ron and Sandra Walton as well as numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, including those from the culinary industry. Trent was born on October 2, 1967 in Esterhazy, SK but grew up and resided in Regina, SK. He attended Miller High School and then went on to work in the culinary industry. He worked at the Saskatchewan Legislature for over 20 years as Executive Chef and was President of the Canadian Culinary Federation, Regina Branch, at the time of his passing. He loved the culinary arts and first entered into culinary competitions in 1987. He represented Saskatchewan at the Culinary Olympics in 2000, winning three medals. He loved the Lord and attended Harvest City Church for over 25 years. He loved his family tremendously and will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank all those involved in his care during his short illness. A celebration of Trent’s life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Harvest City Church, 2202 8th Ave N, Regina, SK with Pastor Dave Wells officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Culinary Federation, Regina Branch, towards a trust fund for the Trent Brears Culinary Scholarship.
