Obituary of Louise Helen Lang
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Louise Lang on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
Louise leaves to mourn her passing, children Garnet (Lydia) and family, Sheila, Arlene (Gerald) Irwin and family, Eldon (Rhonda) Lang and family, and Wanda (Al) Barrett and family; as well as her sister Hilda Rathgaber; and sisters-in-law Betty Lang and Annette Lang. She was predeceased by her husband Ernest; parents Emmanuel and Elizabeth Teskey; parents-in-law Jacob and Ludwicka Lang and Beatte Lang; brothers Gordon (Jean), Irvin, Clifford, Elmer (Gayle); sisters Elsie (Ed), Diane (Cliff) and Edna in infancy.
Mom had a great love for the outdoors. She couldn't wait for spring to arrive to get out in her garden and begin planting. She loved to bake and cook; her recipe books were always marked with new ones to try and her cookie jar was always full. Mom spent many hours at her sewing machine, making clothes for her grandchildren and missionary work.
Louise attended Southey Baptist Church all her married life, where she served faithfully in many capacities.
Louise’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the biggest blessings of her life. She looked forward to Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving when all the family were together, and her house rang with laughter.
She was a blessing to all who knew her.
We would like to extend a heartful thanks to the Cupar Nursing Home for all the love and care they provided Mom this past year and half.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Southey Baptist Church, 96 Assiniboia Avenue, Southey, SK. Donations in Louise’s memory may be made to Cupar and District Nursing Home or Mercy Ships Canada, 3318 Oak Street, Victoria, BC V8X 1R1.
