Obituary of Roland Blaine Schienbein

Roland was born in Neudorf, SK. He moved to Regina to attend Thom Collegiate. Roland’s excellent finishing carpentry took him to many places, in all four western provinces where he was known for his excellent abilities. He encountered a serious non-operable back injury at work some 15 years ago and it gradually developed into a chronic pain situation which destroyed his mobility and lost his ability to speak and communicate. After years of treatment and medicine, there was nothing available to give him comfort. He passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.

Roland was predeceased by his mother Erna, in 2008. He leaves to cherish the memories his father Herb; brother Garnet (Ulla), and their family Jesse, Jamie and Angie; uncle Len Schienbein; aunts Joyce Schienbein and Lil Hauser; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

There will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place. The ashes are entrusted to the family, a gathering for family and friends may be arranged and posted for mid-Summer. For those wishing to donate in Roland’s memory may do so to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre or a charity of your choice.
