My deepest condolences to the Kent family on the passing of Don. He was a true friend and mentor to me as a fellow geologist . I first met Don in a junior football game where he gave me a roughing penalty.. Thereafter my path crossed his many times resulting in a lasting friendship and mentorship by him during my formative geological studies. When ever I saw him the conversations were priceless- I will always remember them with fondness. Rest In Peace Don.

It is with deep regret that I wish to pass on my condolences to the family and friends of Dr. Kent. Don was our teacher, mentor and friend when we were all so young and inexperienced. He was generous with his knowledge and so much more importantly with his time, a trait we learned later was a rarity in our professional world. Manny of the grad students of our era share stories of Don spending hours in the lab, over a microscope and in the field passing on his hard won entreaties on the natural world. To me personally, he was willing to take a chance on an average student at a time when it meant the most and through friendship and encouragement showed me how to achieve more than I ever thought possible. I can never thank him enough. Rest well Don, you live on in all of us.

Sincerest condolences to the friends and family of Don Kent. I will cherish our years together on the Rider sideline at Taylor Field and our many feature broadcasts of Ask the Referee. Don, or Dr. Don as I called him, was a student of the game and it’s regulations. He mastered them as he did all things in his professional life. I will always cherish his friendship and kindness. Rest In Peace Dr. Don. Your legacy in life will live on.

My deepest condolences to Mark, Kent, Chris, Paul and all of the family.
I got to know Don through football and in teaching and coaching several of his kids at Miller.
Don was very respected in football circles, this I can attest to as having been involved in amateur football for nearly 25 years.
May your memories of times together and being together again bring comfort at this difficult time.
