Obituary of Francis Xavior Doucette

Please share a memory of Francis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness, the family announces the passing of Francis Xavior Doucette on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at the age of 69.

Francis is survived by the love of his life, Margaret Saxby, of 53 years. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Shelley Schmidt, Beverly (John) Lorenz (Kyle), Darren Schmidt (Lee Anne, Danielle, Samantha), Jody (Terry Casper); and brother Robert (Elaine) Schaffer of Brentwood Bay, BC.

Francis received his Electrical Journeymen’s license in 2001. He worked for several electrical companies over the years until he fell while working at the Plains Hospital. Francis then worked installing security cameras at Bi-Rite Drugs. His health deteriorated after four heart attacks over the years. Added to this was bladder cancer and two hernia surgeries.

Francis liked to think of himself as “the jack of all trades”. He was always there to help when someone needed it. Francis was also definitely a book of knowledge. His favourite past-time was feeding the birds and looking after all the flowers we had started from seeds.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Regina Memorial Gardens, 4001 Victoria Avenue East, Regina, SK.  Please meet inside the gates just prior to 10:00 a.m.   Reception to follow at Regina Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank the staff of 4B Palliative Care at Pasqua Hospital for making his last days of life comfortable.
