Obituary of Charles Edward Shimsha

On Sunday, October 31, 2021, Charles Shimsha passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his mother Anna; father Adolph; sister Beatrice; and infant brother Donald. As well as his beloved companion “Jacky”. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elizabeth; daughters Charlene (Stephen) Werner, Cathy (Kevin) Kropf, and Carla (Merlin) Trower; his precious grandchildren, Ryan, Sydney and Taylor Kropf, and Gerame and Makenzie Trower; and baby sisters Marlene (Duane) Panko, and Nancy (Bruce) Shannon. Charles was born in Limerick, SK in 1934. He had a full life working in many fields: on the railway, in the oil rigs, and in farming. Most of his career was spent in the construction field with PCL. Charles loved spending time with his family and going on vacations, camping, and many road trips with his wife, girls, and grandkids. A private family service will be held. His family would like to say a special thank you to all the Palliative Care staff for the excellent care they provided him and their support of his family. Flowers will be greatfully declined. Donations may be made in Dad's name to the MS Society, Canadian Cancer Clinic, or any organization of your choice.
