Nikki and family my deepest sympathy on the loss of your mom, grandma and great grandma. I enjoyed working with her at SIAST and she played bunco with me for a couple of years. She was a great lady. Sherrie Koshman

Hi Sherrie,
Thanks for your kind words. Mother certainly enjoyed the friendships she had with co-workers at SIAST. I was lucky to be able to meet and get to know many of her colleagues over the years. She was very fortunate to be able call all of you friends.

To Shirley’s family,
I worked at the SIAST library while Shirley was in Dental Assisting and I would come up to spend my coffee beak with the dental people. We always had a lot of fun discussing work and out-of-work activities. I will miss Shirley very much.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your kind words. I recall meeting you a number of years ago. Mother often introduced me when we were sharing a coffee break or lunch together. I recall those years fondly - her great relationships with her coworkers, and yes, seeing all of you able to laugh and have fun together. Those great experiences are a part of how I try to live my professional life. Being missed is probably about the most wonderful tribute to who she was.

Dear Nikki, Steven, and Families
I am so sorry to hear of Shirley’s passing.
I worked with Shirley her entire working career at SIAST. We went through work issues and personal events together and shared many laughs and tears. She cared for and helped students and instructors alike even when we all attempted to learn the ‘new’ technology of computers. Lol
Thank you for putting the service online so we can all attend. Once again, I am sorry for your loss. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Hello Linda,
It's so nice to hear from you again, although I wish it were under happier circumstances. Thanks for sharing your kind words here. Your comments sum up her work at SIAST nicely - supportive and helpful, flexible and adaptable, hard working and tenacious - pretty much how she modeled her life for us a home as well.
Glad you could watch the service. I'm sure she would be glad to have you watching.

Dear Nikki, Stephen & Family, We are sorry for the loss of your Mom, Dear Aunt Shirl. She was a fun loving woman and we had a lot of laughs over the years. She will be sorely missed. I have posted a picture of one of our visits to Sask in 2012. May she rest in peace. Love, Heather, Walter, Victoria & Juan San Martin, Burnaby, BC

Hi Heather,
Thanks for reaching out. Mom certainly enjoyed her many visits with you. Those were perhaps the times when I saw her laughing the hardest - sometimes wiping tears away. You always seemed to have just the right humor to tickle her funny bone. Thanks for the photo as well. It's always great to have more memories of her life for the album.
