It was good to have known Joe Toews. We always enjoyed having him at our Wednesday morning mens coffee time. There was always a cheerful word or story.
He was a wonderful follower of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
We will miss Joe in the days ahead.
We extend our sympathies to the entire family.

I first met Joe and Nita when I caught a ride with Don on a trip to Winnipeg in 1989. I enjoyed Joe's storytelling, jokes, smiles, and hugs then and on later occasions when we met in Regina, usually while visiting Don and Darlene. My deepest condolences to the Toews families.

Condolences to you the Toews family. I got to know Mr Toews in my years at Reimer Express Lines in Winnipeg. But after he showed up at our church one year to visit the John Froeses who I found out were related to him we had another connection. I enjoyed visiting with him every time he showed up.
May God comfort you in this time of sorrow.

Oh how I miss you already Uncle Joe. I’m glad that Auntie Agnes and Don as well as Mom and Dad, and many other family members were there at the Golden Gate to meet you. You were one of a kind…..so loving, honest, kind, and a real down to earth Christian. We had many good times camping, and visiting. I’m glad we were able to see you several weeks ago, and I honestly thought that it would be the last time I would see you here on earth but I am making sure that I will see you and the others in Heaven at Jesus feet some day. Your family will be alright down here…..Esther told me she would be okay. I’m so sorry I can’t be at your funeral but someday I will come see your grave. I will never forget you and will miss those phone calls to each other every couple of weeks. Until I see you again. As we always ended our calls to each other with a “God Bless. Love you lots.”
Your niece, Barb and John, Niverville, MB Love You Lots.

I had the privilege of working with Joe in Winnipeg dispatch when I was just a young man. He had a strong work ethic and had high expectations of those who work ed him. He was compassionate & gentle beneath a sometimes gruff persona. I appreciated what I learned from him. What a delight to know where he is based on a simple act of trust in Jesus so many years ago. Good bye for now my brother.
