Obituary of Dwaine Stephen Kautzman
In Loving Memory of
Dwaine S. Kautzman
April 14, 1963 • June 1, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dwaine “D-man” Kautzman on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the age of 58. In the last few years, he's fought many physical and mental battles, but stayed strong for the ones he loved through it all. We are comforted in the fact that his struggles are now over, and, in the end, there is peace.
Dwaine was born on April 14, 1963 in Regina, SK to father Andrew “Andy” Kautzman and mother Rose Kautzman (nee Kuzek), who predeceased him. He was the younger brother of Darren Kautzman; they bonded over their love of cars and mechanical work back in the day. When Dwaine was young, he also enjoyed playing various sports such as hockey, football, basketball and rugby to name a few. Dwaine started working in the trucking industry at the age of 17 where he worked for many years (and knew many people!) until an achilles tendon injury which made him change his career path.
Dwaine married Cathy on June 5, 1993 when they realized they were soulmates. They may have had their up's and down's like all marriages but no matter what they always stood beside each other. Their love will always be deep and true. They raised two children together; Chase and Nicole who were very important to Dwaine. He also loved his family pets; Polar, Bear, Dexter, Jäger and Boots with all his heart.
Dwaine was also a collector of many things. Anything from comic books, hockey cards, action figures, hot wheels, car parts and everything in between. He took pride in being a “handyman” and how he could make something out of anything. He loved gardening and always had a yard full of beautiful flowers and plants for him and Cathy to be around.
A special thank you to Dwaine's earth angel and sister-in-law, Alayne who helped take care of him when Cathy needed extra support.
A Private Memorial Service to celebrate Dwaine’s life will be held. If you wish to donate on Dwaine's behalf, please do so to the Canadian Digestive Health Foundation – Gastroparesis or simply wear tie dye anytime in remembrance of this amazing man.
Dwaine, loving husband and devoted father; you are dearly loved and will be forever missed until we see you again.
In Loving Memory
