Obituary of Lothar Karl Hosemann
Peacefully of natural causes on Saturday, January 16, 2021, Lothar “Len” Karl Hosemann passed away at the age of 91 at Elmview Extendicare, Regina. Len was one of the most amazing people anyone could meet, with an aura about him that preceded his entrance into a room, putting a smile on the face of even the shyest person.
Len was a spiritually minded intellectual with a love of reading, and a “people person” who loved the company of family, friends and anyone else willing to spend time talking. He was a member of the Sri Satya Sai Baba community who helped found the Regina Chapter. He had a long and rewarding sales career in the construction industry at Westeel/VicWest and remained an honorary lifetime member of the Regina Construction Association.
Len was predeceased by his loving wife Ursula; his amazing grandson Kyle and his younger brother Achim. He is survived by his three children: Kim (Betty) Hoseman, Diana (Brian) Murphy, Ron (Kelly) Hoseman; his seven grandchildren Kris (Patty), Jon (Trisha), Tanya, Josh (Kailey), Jacquie, Jenny (Tony), Alyssa (Chris); his 14 great grandchildren Jamie, Nick, Tiya, Ashly, Becca, Archer, Jordan, McKenna, Lynden, Tiberius, Leonardo, Ignatius, Madoc and Rhiannell; his beloved friend Danuta Lukomski; brother Dieter and family; all the Hosemann family and his many dear friends.
Len was born in Germany and emigrated to Saskatoon, SK in 1953 with his wife Ursula and one-year old son Kim. Along with their additional two kids, the Hosemann family moved to Regina, SK in 1969 where he lived happily until his passing. Len and Ursula lovingly opened their hearts and doors to all.
Len’s nephew Andreas Hosemann said it most eloquently: “The only important thing in life are the traces of love that we leave behind when we go. You are taken from life but not from our hearts”. Len had a profound impact on many people, leaving no doubt that the love and rich memories he left behind are strong and everlasting.
