Obituary of Temple Cain

Please share a memory of Temple to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Our mother, Temple Cain, passed away peacefully in the Palliative Ward at the Pasqua Hospital in the early hours of Thursday, April 9, 2020. We are grateful for the exceptional care that Mom received in her last few months from the Palliatative staff, both from Homecare visits and hospital staff, and from her pharmacists at Shoppers Drug Mart. Also, thanks to the staff at Paragon for their kind assistance at this time.

Mom is predeceased by her husband, Howard (2004) and son, Andrew (2017). She is survived by her daughter, Martina; and her son, Steve and daughter-in-law, Marina, as well as her siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mom cherished her time with close friends, many of whom spent time with her around the table having coffee, telling stories or playing cards and sharing numerous laughs. Mom will be remembered for her love of reading, music, singing, dancing, sports, CATS (and animals of all kinds!), AND POLITICS (she loved her daily political discourse with her beloved brother, Bill, in Guatemala!). Travelling with Dad and friends throughout the years were some of her most cherished times. Her generosity and hospitality touched many lives as did her laughter and sense of humour.

Mom will be missed, but is now free of pain and at peace, reunited with those who've gone before her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mom's favorite cause: the Regina Humane Society.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy Name.

Thy Kingdom come,

Thy will be done on earth,

As it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

As we forgive those who trespass against us.

Lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil,

For thine is the Kingdom,

The power and the glory,

Forever and ever,

Amen.

Miss Me But Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road

and the sun has set for me

I want no rites in a gloom filled room.

Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little – but not too long

And not with your head bowed low.

Remember the love we once shared

Miss me – but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take

And each must go alone.

It’s all a part of the Master’s plan,

A step on the road to home…

When you are lonely and sick at heart,

Go to the friends we know

An bury your sorrows in doing good deeds

Miss me – but let me go.

We’ll Meet Again

We’ll meet again, don’t know where, don’t know when

But I know we’ll meet again some sunny day

Keep smilin’ thro’ just like you always do

Till the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away.

So will you please say hello to the folks that I know

Tell them I won’t be long.

They’ll be happy to know that as you saw me go

I was singing this song

We’ll meet again, don’t know where, don’t know when

But I know we’ll meet again some sunny day.
