Obituary of Melvin Elroy Kebel

Please share a memory of Melvin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mel Kebel. Mel passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019 after a brave fight with Cancer. He is predeceased by his parents Adam and Lydia Kebel; and sister Lousie Fraser. Survived by his children Matthew, Scott, and Melanie; sisters Bertha Skeem, Shirley Elund, and Linda Paquette; and brothers Anton Kebel and Alvin Kebel. If you knew Mel, he truly had an enormous heart of gold, generous to a fault and loved to joke and laugh. He was a good friend, loved by everyone and will be deeply missed. Mel had formed many strong bonds and friendships. He treasured the friendships he made and the support he had. The last few years Mel was known as the “Little General”, for he took such great pride in his buildings and how they looked, how clean they were and how he looked after all the tenants in a very personal and professional way. There is little that we can say that will assuage the grief we all feel for the loss of someone so dear, but I take comfort in the affect he has had on our life and the footprints he has left on our hearts. If prayers are heard, I know he is looking down on us with a smile and a thanks for a life well lived. A Celebration of Melvin’s life will be held between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Sunday September 29, 2019 at Fairfield Inn, 3915 Albert St., Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations in Melvin’s name can be made to The Canadian Cancer Society.
