Obituary of Robert Angus Stevenson

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Surrounded by his loving wife and family, Bob peacefully passed away, and went to be with his Lord and Saviour on September 20, 2019 at the age of 87 years.  He was predeceased by his son Kenneth; his brother Norman and sister Louise. He will be lovingly remembered by Irma, his devoted wife of 60 years; their children: son Glenn (Laverne); daughter in law Leanne Louis; son David (Shannon); daughter Brenda Frost (Jeff); son Gary (Shannon) and all their cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bob was born in San Bernardino, California, September 14, 1932. He was raised in Ontario and at the age of 18, he moved to Saskatchewan.  While working as a farmhand, he developed a love for farming. (In his retirement he greatly enjoyed farming a quarter section of land for several years.)
He met his sweetheart Irma on the way to a wedding in 1958 and the two love birds were married a year later, on June 13, 1959.
After completing his journeyman’s in sheet metal, Bob and his trusted friend and business partner Peter Gross started Welldone Plumbing and Heating in 1965. Each went to the bank and borrowed $1000.00 to start the company out of their garages. The large, hard to miss, truck toppers on the green trucks still on the road today, were all designed and built by Bob.
He was a committed disciple of Christ and a faithful member of the Regina Apostolic Church where he was a board member for many years, a Sunday School teacher, usher, and Chief Ranger of the Boys Brigade club. He was actively involved in the design and construction of the church we are in today. Bob was also very involved in Kedleston Gospel Camp, both as a board member and camp manager for many years. He built a cabin there where family and friends have gathered and built wonderful memories since 1971.
Bob loved the great outdoors. Together with his long-time hunting and fishing pals, a beautiful remote log cabin was built in northern Saskatchewan that family and friends have greatly enjoyed over the years.
Whatever Bob put his hand to was completed with excellence. His honesty, integrity, compassion and humility were some of his many admirable characteristics. He was a very faithful servant to the God he loved. Welcome home, Bob, to your eternal reward.
