Obituary of Charles Reitmeier

Charles (Charlie) Reitmeier June 18, 1933 – January 29, 2016 It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Charlie. He passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side. He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Rose, plus many aunts and uncles. He leaves behind his wife and best friend Joan (Pageot). Charlie passed away 9 hours short of their 56th anniversary. He also leaves behind 3 daughters, Charlene Sullivan, Barb Thompson (Al), Rosanne Gartner, and one son Gordon (Vicky) Reitmeier. Charlie had 8 grandchildren: Andrew (Ashley) Berner, Jennifer Berner (Wacey), Kristen Moate (Steve), Courtney Kayter (Nick), Kaitlin and Jeffrey Reitmeier and Joseph Walsh. As well he leaves 3 great-grandchildren Austin and Adisson Berner and Knox Moate. He is also survived by his sister Corinne Varro and her family as well as Joan’s family and their families. Charlie suffered with Parkinsons as well as cancer, both which he battled without complaint until he peacefully slipped away at home. The family cannot thank enough the Palliative Care nurses and the fantastic P.C. home aids. We will never forget your care and compassion when you looked after Charlie. At Charlie’s request, there will be no funeral. Charlie will be cremated and a Celebration of his Life will be held later in the spring. Rev up your Harley Dad!
