Obituary of Katherine Eva Liska
Katherine passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 15, 2019 in Regina Wascana Grace Hospice at the age of 72. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Anna (nee Kesslering) Niedermayer; and her parents-in-law Nick and Josephine (nee Olheiser) Liska. Katherine’s memory will be cherished by her husband of 39 years, Robert; children Aaron and Nicole; brother Frank (Sylvia) Niedermayer; nephew Mark Niedermayer (Kim Dirk) and family; and niece Laura (James) Carter and family.
Family was very important to Katherine, and she was devoted to her husband and children. Her faith in Christ encouraged her to volunteer at Holy Cross Parish. Katherine was on the Fundraising Committee of Parish Council, Sunday Ministry Team Captain, helped with Golf Tournaments, Harvest Suppers and Collection Counting, was a CWL Member, volunteered help in the office and purchased kitchen supplies. She also helped Bob and Aaron with Knights of Columbus projects. Katherine especially enjoyed the Fourth Degree Socials.
Cancer hit Katherine very hard and fast. She passed away only two months after they began looking into her health issues. Katherine was loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, 315 Douglas Avenue East, Regina with Rev. Richard Jasiak presiding. The family wishes to thank all those who have blessed us with prayers, food, condolences and support during this difficult time. Those so wishing to make donations in Katherine’s memory may do so to the Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetes Canada: Saskatchewan or to Regina Wascana Grace Hopsice. Online messages of condolence may be left at www.paragonfuneralservices.com
