Obituary of Leon Roy Papequash

Leon began his journey home to the spirit world in the early morning of Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the age of 39.   There to meet him are his loved ones who predeceased him:  his mom Joan; biological dad Leon; sisters Priscilla, Leanne, Tanya and Angie; nieces and nephews Nicole, Kassaundra, Perry, Marvin and Chastity; plus many more relatives too numerous to mention.   Leon is survived by: his dad Arnold Desjarlais; best friend and partner Shaulen; children Kendal, Jolene, Twyla, Timmy, Braxton, Tianya, Hayden, Nevaeh and Waylon; siblings Roberta (Warren), Hertha (Norm), Delores (Henry), Barbara, Raven, Charmaine, Ken, Alex and Kevin.  The Wake will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2019 at the Piapot Band Hall, Piapot First Nation, followed by Traditional Funeral Services at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019.   Thank you to the MICU and ICU nurses and doctors at Regina General and Pasqua Hospitals, and the staff at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre for your care and compassion, along with the Piapot First Nation Chief and Council, Elder Joe Fourhorns and George Toto.
