Obituary of Thomas Edwin Kinvig
On Thursday, June 20, 2019, Tom Kinvig peacefully passed away surrounded by love. Tom was born on July 8, 1940 near Estlin, SK and lived in the Gray and Milestone area his entire life. Tom was predeceased by his parents Mamie and Ed Kinvig and older brother John. Tom (Dad) was adored and will be greatly missed by his four children: Callie (Jason), Shellan (Clinton), Ed (Jessie) and Bill (Toriann); sister Phyllis and brother Earl (Connie); six grandchildren Cameron, William, Aidan, Malcolm, Ewan, and Kaliah; as well as nieces, nephews and many friends. Tom loved his family and farming - in that order. There was no questioning his devotion to his kid’s and grandkids’ various activities and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for those he loved. Tom and his siblings attended the one-room Buck Lake School. He enjoyed his youth on the shores of Buck Lake near Gray, SK. Tom married Elizabeth Johnston of Milestone, SK in 1970. Together they raised their four children. He and his brother Earl farmed for many years. He also drove school bus for the local school division. Tom always made an effort to stop and talk to anyone. Dad would often spend time making fast friends with people he had just met. His sense of humour will live on in his family. An intimate, family service will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the Regina Humane Society, Box 3143, Regina, SK S4P 3G7 as he had a kind heart and loved animals. Special thanks to the staff of College Park II and the staff of the 4B and 3A units of the Pasqua Hospital who provided excellent care for our beloved Dad. Going home, going home
I am going home
Quiet like, some still day
I am going home
It's not far, just close by
Through an open door
Work all done, care laid by
Never fear no more
Mother's there expecting me
Father's waiting too
Lots of faces gathered there
All the friends I knew
I'm just going home
No more fear, no more pain
No more stumbling by the way
No more longing for the day
Going to run no more
Morning star light the way
Restless dreams all gone
Shadows gone, break of day
Real life has begun
There's no break, there's no end
Just living on
Wide awake, with a smile
Going on and on, going on and on
Going home, going home
I am going home
Shadows gone, break of day
Real life has begun
I'm just going home
In Loving Memory
Thomas Kinvig
