Obituary of Irene Annette Miller

Irene passed away peacefully on Wednesdsay, May 29, 2019 in Wascana Grace Hospice in Regina.   She was predeceased by her parents, Matyas and Catherine (nee Andris) Krammer; and siblings John (Ann), Victor, Bert (Judy), Helen, Kelly (Josie) and Willie.

Irene will be dearly remembered by her loving husband of 55 years, Edward “Dwayne” Miller; son Darryl (Elaine) and daughter Debbie (Mike) Mulroy; grandchildren Ella, Ethan and Emmett Mulroy; sister-in-law Tillie as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends.

Born October 5, 1943, Irene was the youngest child of seven siblings.   She grew up in the Cupar area on the farm and later lived in town.    After graduating from high school, Irene furthered her education to become a secretary.  

On August 31, 1963, she married Dwayne Miller.  They moved to Regina were they lived together for 55 years.    Irene worked for the provincial government in Oil & Gas for many years.   She later went on to work for the Lieutenant-Governor of Saskatchewan at Government House.   Irene took on this position near the end of her career.  She really enjoyed and felt grateful for the opportunity to write correspondence celebrating milestone birthdays and anniversaries for the people of Saskatchewan.

Irene loved to sew, read and play card games.   She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family.   Irene had many special friends and loved socializing.    She always had kind words to say and was there for everyone.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 in Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 1021 McCarthy Blvd., Regina, SK., with Rev. Anthony Pangan presiding.   Donations in memory of Irene may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina S4P 2R3.
