Obituary of Wilfred Frederick

Wilfred passed away on May 26, 2019 in Regina, SK at 88 years of age. He was predeceased by his father and mother, John Paul Frederick and Matilda Agnes Fahlman; his brothers Gottlieb, John and Adolph Frederick; his son Kurt (Lucy); his daughter Patsy Barnett (Martin) and great granddaughter Kaya. He is survived by his wife Patsy; his sons Jan (Bev), Mark (Luanne) and John; his daughters Jane Rakochy (Wilf) and Alice; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Wilfred was born on October 12, 1930 at Holdfast, SK and was raised there. He married Patsy Barker on July 8, 1952. They moved to Regina in 1957 and resided there ever since. Wilfred worked at Burns Foods Ltd. for several years. In the early 1970’s, he began working at Vancouver Fancy Meats, which gave him the opportunity to travel around the province. He continued there until his retirement in 1986. Wilfred loved visiting with his kids, grand kids and great grand kids. He loved dogs, music and Hawaii. He and Patsy spent many winters in Hawaii until their health would no longer permit it. Wilfred had a big heart, a big voice and a wonderful sense of humour. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. A service will be held at a later date.
