Obituary of Edward Henry Gulash
Edward passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at the age of 82 years in the Pasqua Hospital. He was born on June 23, 1936, on the farm near McKim, Saskatchewan. In 1957, Ed moved from the family farm to pursue job opportunities in Regina. Four years later, he met his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Kipper. They married and had three children, Chandra, Deidre and Kurt and began a life well-lived. Dad had numerous pastimes which included gardening, farming, harvesting, reading and all sports – not to mention his love of Crokinole. He was a natural athlete, teaching his children to enjoy ice skating, hockey and baseball from a very young age. Dad was also a dedicated fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays. Dad spent most of his career in sales and had the ability to strike up a conversation with almost anyone. He was also very involved in the church ministries at his parish, St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, as well as home and school. He loved to dance and listen to the Saturday Night Polka Party. Above all, Dad was a family man first and foremost. We have many fond memories of time spent at the farm in the Yorkton/Melville area and at the family cottage at Echo Lake.
Dad was predeceased by his parents, John and Julia Gulash; and brothers-in-law Robert Molnar, Don Holhoyi and Mike Molnar. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Betty; daughters Chandra (Greg) Fahlman and Deidre (Brian) Fahlman; son Kurt (Laura) Gulash; and nine grandchildren; Christopher, Justin (Kayla), Jacey, Deanna, Kaylee, Sarah, Jessica, Emily and Matthew; siblings Joyce Molnar, Janet Molnar, Jackie Gulash, Larry (Lynn) Gulash, Violet Holhoyi, Leona (Ed) Weber, Irvin (Janet) Gulash; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In Loving Memory
Edward Gulash
