Obituary of Michael Darren Ryder

With heavy hearts, we announce that Michael Darren Ryder (West Bear Man), loving husband and father of four children passed away at the age of 48.  Mike was born on August 27, 1970 in Fort Qu’Appelle and passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, May 20, 2019 in Regina, Saskatchewan.  Mike was predeceased by siblings Daniel, Herbie,  and  Sandy; uncle Davis, and grandson Noah.   He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Deena Ryder; his four children Justice, Rhiana, Emma, and Dreden; his grandchildren Olivia, Sophia, Liam and Ava; and he loved his niece/daughter Kristen “Chinagirl”.  Mike is also survived by his parents Barbara and Hector;  siblings Berry, Kevin, Melvin, Wallace, Anita, Gloria and Brenda as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mike loved life, he loved his driving with his wife around town, and he cherished family and his grandchildren.  He enjoyed watching every Rider game with his wife during the season.  His favourite things to do were take his dogs for walks and listen to all his favourite tunes loudly. Mike loved spending time with his brothers and going out to the Fort to visit his dad Hector. He enjoyed helping people around the city and would give his shirt off his back for anyone in need. He was always so mindful of others.

The Wake will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at Indigenous Christian Fellowship, 3131 Dewdney Avenue, Regina followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 27, 2019.   Interment in Riverside Memorial Park.  At the request of the family, please no children, drugs or alcohol.
