Please share a memory of Dean to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dean passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the age of 95 years.  He was born December 23, 1923 in Viceroy, Saskatchewan to Martha Jane and Charlie Bateson.  Dean was predeceased by his parents; his loving wife, Beatrice; brothers Harold and Harry; and sisters Ethel and Hazel.

Dean will be lovingly remembered by his son Terry (Bev), their daughters Jaimie (Shane) O’Halloran, great-granddaughter Kaylee (Mike); Jodi (Ryan) O’Halloran, great-grandson Logan; his daughter Brenda (Garry) Elliott, their children Shauna (Dustin Gusikoski), great-grandchildren Easton, Ava and Violet; and David Elliott.

Dean will be also missed by his sister Muriel Neff; brother-in-law Harold Wenaus (Nancy); sisters-in-law Bernice Greenwood, Doris Munro and Sherri Wenaus; many nieces and nephews and many, many friends.

Dean left us all with his zest for life.  He was a great example for all who had the opportunity to meet him. He was a tremendous athlete and participated in curling, golf and bowling right up to a year ago. In August of 2016 his Viceroy Baseball team was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.  He played for them from 1946 to 1950 and was the oldest player to attend the induction ceremony.

Dean loved people the most and everywhere he went he made new friends instantly. Dean will be missed tremendously and will always be loved by all.
