Obituary of William Donald Gillies

With sadness the family regrets to announce the passing of Don on May 10, 2019. Don leaves to mourn his sons David (Susan), Donald (Roxanne); daughters Kathryn (Kevin) and Elizabeth (Robbie); his grandchildren: Sean (Jenn), Joseph, Laura, Marco (Meaghan), Jessica (Aaron), Roberta (Kelly), Victoria (Cory), Steven and Michelle; his great grandchildren: Olivia, Erik, Evan, Anika, Carter and Abby as well as his numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Don also leaves to mourn Bernice, his best friend and love; Bernice’s family: son Allen (Colleen); daughters, Cheryl (Brian), Maureen (Richard) and Leanne (Greg); Bernice’s grandchildren: Brad, Shelly, Mathew, Chantel, Kristyn, Janelle, Kade, Carly and Kailey; great grandchildren: Braden, Chase, Kristopher, Josh, Duke and Isla, as well as Bernice’s extended family. Don is predeceased by his wife of 55 years Elsa; brother Herb; sister Margaret; sisters in law Joyce, Mary, Winnie and Nicky;  brothers in law Laurie, Bert, George and Frank.

Don and Bernice moved to Regina in May of 2018 and resided at Victoria Park Assisted Living Community where he was very happy. Don passed away peacefully with family by his side.

A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at St. James United Church, 4506 Sherwood Drive, Regina, SK with Reverend Diane Robinson officiating.

Interment will be in the fall at Assissippi Cemetery, Inglis, MB.
