Kathleen passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at the age of 86. Kathleen was the seventh of eight children born to David and Ella McKenzie of Froude, SK. She grew up on the farm and attended school at Froude. It was at school that she met the love of her life, Joseph Wasiak. Joe and Kathleen were married June 21, 1952 and over the years they lived in Swift Current, Rouleau, Moose Jaw, and Regina. They enjoyed their life together raising children, singing in the church choir and travelling. Kathleen was a great home maker, she loved fashion, sewing, studying music, playing the organ and teaching piano. Joe passed away in 2003. Kathleen is survived by her children Ed (Katherine) Wasiak, Christine Kessel, Colette (Wayne) Bischoff, Marcia (Michael) Scott, and Teresa (Dan) Lee; grandchildren Jason (Erin) Wasiak, Michael (Alin) Wasiak, Tamara (Kyle) Attanasio, Sandra (John) Newstead, Shaun (Tara) Kessel, Jonathan (Danica) Kessel, Laura (Matthew) Butcher, Adam Bischoff, Anthony Bischoff, Sarah (Colby) Scott, Matthew Scott, Clare (Dave) Adamcik; eleven beautiful great grandchildren; her brother Howard McKenzie and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to all who cared for mom over the years, including Geraldine and Ekit, the staff and physicians at Princess Villa, Parkside Extendicare, Pasqua Emergency Department and Unit 3D. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, April 1, 2019 at St. Martin de Porres Church, 4720 Castle Rd., Regina, SK with Fr Peter Pham Celebrant. A Tea will follow the Mass.
