Obituary of Donna Nicurity
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Donna, our beloved and devoted mom and friend to all whose lives she touched, on March 24, 2019. She was surrounded by love as her children were both by her side when she moved on to heaven. Born in Melfort, SK on the hottest day on record to date, July 3, 1937, she grew up in Regina, SK with Dad Olaf and Mom Inga and her three sisters, Nora, Ann and Louella. She attended Luther College High School for grade 9 and Scott Collegiate for grades 10-12. Being very athletic, she played all sports and loved to swim. Her favourite was basketball and she was a high scoring point guard. Later in life she took up golf and had a 17 handicap. She also loved watching Rider games. Donna lived a full life as a wonderful mom and homemaker. During her working years she was at SaskPower, SaskWheat Pool as a secretarial instructor, and prior to her retirement a school secretary for the Regina Public School Board. Following that she was an avid volunteer in the hospital gift shops, Mackenzie Art Gallery, the RCMP Heritage Centre and Government House. Never one to be idle, she had many hobbies as well and loved to try all types of crafts such as macramé, knitting and sewing. She could do absolutely everything from changing out a sink to making a magnificent dinner and tending her beautiful park like yard. She did yoga before yoga was cool and continued it throughout her life, along with meditation and a full spiritual life as part of the Lutheran Church community. She had many friends and was involved in many organizations such as the Scandinavian Club and the Canadian Club of Regina. She had a full calendar with many lunch and of course coffee dates. Missing her immensely are her daughter Leslee Nicurity, son Jason Nicurity (Renée) and her precious grandchildren, of whom she was so proud and so involved in their lives, Alexia and Jaxon Gosselin and Téah Nicurity. As well as her sisters and their families and her many special friends and her faithful furry companion Abbey. She loved her family and instilled in us strong values that serve us well. She will be forever in our hearts and missed immensely every single day. At Donna’s request there will be no funeral service and flowers are gratefully declined. She spent her last days at Regina Wascana Grace Hospice and we are so grateful for the kind and loving care she received and the time that we were able to spend there with her. If you would like to make a donation in her name please send it to 50 Angus Road Regina, SK S4R 8P6 or contact 306-543-0655.
In Loving Memory
Donna Nicurity
