Obituary of Melvin Raymond Sloat

With his family beside him, Melvin left this earth to once again meet Claire, his wife of 61 years. Melvin was the child of Minnie Conner and Ardie Sloat and was born and raised on a farm 14 kilometers north of Kelliher, SK and went to Clarkson School. He was the last of 15 children to pass. Melvin had a fulfilling career working at the STC garage in Regina. He and Claire enjoyed the natural things in life like fishing, hunting, camping and snowshoeing. His beautiful garden was Mel’s pride and joy with his huge potatoes and prize carrots. His other enjoyment was playing his favourite game of cribbage. He and Claire enjoyed their many friends and relatives at home and on holidays. Melvin, with his positive, energetic and warm personality, will be missed a lot by many people. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Riverside Cemetery Chapel. Following the service, refreshments will be served at the Girl Guide Building at 1530 Broadway Ave. (Just off Broad St. & Broadway Ave.)
