Obituary of Rose McEwen

Rose passed away peacefully at Wascana Grace Hospice on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the age of 91. She is predeceased by her husband Allister; grandson Christopher McEwen and numerous extended family. Rose will be lovingly remembered by her children, Marilynn, Ronnie (Helen), Tricia (Danny), Dean (Marilyn), Mike (Marilyn) and Pamela (Darrell); grandchildren Melissa (Justin), Sheila (Leonard), Trevor (Sara), Sarah (Andrew), Jason (Jenn), Adam, Andrew (Sydney), Kyle (Stephanie), Connor (Cassie), Shelby (Grady) and Miera; great grandchildren Katie, Lanaya, Haylan, Elana and Arlo; sister Grace Atkinson (Norm) and flower-girl niece Judi Handford, as well as many other family. Rose lived on a farm in the Wascana Valley near Lumsden and shared the love, work and happiness of farm life with her family and Allister “Addie”, the love of her life. She loved to sing and laugh and was most happy with all her family around her. She spoiled us all with our favorite baked treats. Rose loved the Blue Jays, the Riders and curling. She was a woman of strong faith, whose belief gave her and her family courage to face life’s challenges and joys. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at St. Andrews United Church, 115 King St., Lumsden, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose’s memory may be made to St. Andrews United Church in Lumsden or a Charity of your Choice.
