Loretta (Laurie) was born July 4, 1954. She died February 4, 2019 at the Regina General Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. She grew up in Bangor, where her parents farmed. Laurie attended public school in Bangor and high school in Esterhazy. Following high school she lived and worked in Edmonton, Calgary, Regina and Swift Current. She later studied nursing in Saskatoon but withdrew due to poor health. Laurie is survived by her brother, Herb (Val) Jones; sisters, Dianne (Wayne) Billingsley, Dorothy (Bob) Dafoe and Darlene (Fred) Dawkins; nieces and nephews, Ken, Glenn & Ron Billingsley, Larry Dafoe, Sandra Zemlak (nee Dawkins), Jo Ann Sibilleau (nee Dawkins), Carlyle and Tyler Jones and their families. Laurie was predeceased by her parents, Herb and Eva Jones; and nephew, Darryl Dafoe. Laurie will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. The family would like to express their appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff at Regina General, Unit 5E, for the care and compassion provided to Laurie. A private service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association, 2702, 12th Avenue, Regina, SK, S4T 1J2.
