Obituary of Lorraine Olischefski

Please share a memory of Lorraine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Lorraine's daughters are saddened to inform you of her peaceful passing at the age of 91. “Mama” (Granny) was a quietly strong determined lady.  While working at the Weyburn Special Care Home she obtained her Special Care Aide Certificate at the age of 57. Because she was so humble, we weren’t even aware of it. Her many pastimes included crossword puzzles, reading, knitting, crocheting, listening to music, and watching TV – soap operas, game shows and sports like the Riders, golf, NASCAR racing, and curling. Mom loved babies and small children, and animals especially our many cats and dogs. Mom was predeceased by husband Ervin; daughter Vicki Lee and son-in-law Gil, as well as her parents and many of her siblings and in-laws. Lorraine will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Cheryle (Glenn), Sandra, Bonnie (Kelly); grandsons Blair (Chantelle), Kirby (Tara) and Adam; great grandson Ethan; son-in-law Al and his daughter Leslie (Dhugal). Also surviving are sister Minnie; brother Tony (Deloras) and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom spent the last two years at Cupar and District Nursing Home. We would like to thank everyone there for their exceptionally kind and considerate care. Lorraine's family invites you to attend a Memorial Service to be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 935 McCarthy Bld. N., Regina, SK..  In lieu of flowers donations to either the Cupar Nursing Home, 213 Mills Street, Cupar, SK, S0G 0Y0 or to Alzheimer Society, 301-2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SK, S4P 3X1 in Mom's memory would be greatly appreciated.
