YARYCKY, Mary

October 5, 1929 – November 28, 2018

It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Mary, who was a wife, Mom, Baba, sister, aunt and friend. Mary passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the age of 89 years, while surrounded by loved ones. Mary was predeceased by her loving husband of 45 years, Mike Yarycky in 1995; her mother and father Eugenia and Wasyl Bondar; sister Evelyn (Nick) Kozmeniuk; brother Mike Bondar, son-in-law David Michaluk and brother-in-law Walter Daviduik. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her children Joan (Wayne) Fedorchuk and Barb Michaluk; grandchildren Sue (Jason) Norsworthy, Melissa (Tim) Nimchuk, Brandy (Mike) Unger; great-grandchildren Shayla (Josh), Kolton, Michyla, Matthew, Ally and Ella; great-great-grandson Jackson; and sisters Helen (Tony) Proskie, Linda Daviduik and sister-in-law Genevive Bondar as well as many nieces and nephews. Mary had a very compassionate and loving soul, welcoming friends and family into her home for many celebrations and making sure no one went hungry. For Mary, being rich was not measured in monetary value, richness was found in spending time with family and friends. Mary and Mike made their home and raised their family in Hyas, SK. Mary was a homemaker, volunteered in many clubs in the community and had a long career as Postmistress with Canada Post. A passion of Mary’s was family history and writing, always having an interesting story about how she grew up. After retirement from Canada Post and Mike’s passing, Mary moved to Regina to be closer to her family. Being able to live independently, still able to do things she loved, and having many family and friends, Mary was rich beyond measure. A special thank you to all of the staff on 3E at the General Hospital and Palliative Care at the Pasqua Hospital for filling Mary’s last days with dignity, respect and comfort, and for the love and care you gave to her family. Her ashes will be laid to rest beside her husband Mike at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice in Mary’s name.
