Obituary of George Frank Bertram Thomson
THOMSON, George Frank Bertram
1944 - 2018
After a devastating battle with pancreatic cancer, George passed away on July 22, 2018 with the love of his family by his side. He was predeceased by a daughter Stacy (1984); a son in law, Gary Matlock (2016); his parents George (1961) & Ellen (2002) Thomson. He leaves to mourn his passing his life’s companion June Crofford; his daughters Patti (Eldon) Janzen and Starla Matlock; June’s son Curtis Crofford; his granddaughters Haley (Connor and Lucy) Wright, Gillian Johnson and Misha Janzen; grandsons Brad Matlock, Mark Matlock and Logan Janzen; his great granddaughter Alli Johnson; his brother Bill (Shirley) Thomson; also his nieces, nephews, numerous cousins and many close friends. George was born and grew up in Grenfell, SK. After high school he loved his 34 year career as a lineman with SaskPower. When he retired he enjoyed spending time with family and friends at our winter home in Arizona and our summer place on Crooked Lake. He taught us how to laugh and enjoy life. George was a member of the Royal Regina G & C Club for over 25 years and curled competitively out of various clubs in Regina. He was a fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the Toronto Blue Jays and Montreal Habs. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Broadway United Church, 105 Broadway Ave., Regina, SK. Flowers gratefully declined, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
“Others are taken, this we know, but he was ours and we loved him so.”
In Loving Memory
George Thomson
