Dear Janel,
As an avid listener of CBC, I heard the name of Rody Blancher often, but it was only when my husband was in Wascana Rehab Centre that I was privileged to meet him and his wife. I was most impressed with the fact that Rody was always smiling when I saw him, usually on Wed. evenings when we met for an impromptu singing sessions where Janel provided piano accompaniment. I am sure his life at Wascana was not easy as he was in a wheelchair and not able to communicate his needs, as is my husband.
As I read Rod's obituary I was impressed with the many, many important activities he was involved with in the Arts world of Regina. He will be missed and not easy to replace. It was a privilege meeting Rody and Janel at Wascana and they will be missed terribly.
