Obituary of Isaac Peter Wiebe

Please share a memory of Isaac to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Isaac (Ike) Peter Wiebe, 79, died Tuesday, July 3, 2018 in Regina, SK following a brief illness.

Born in Winkler Manitoba, the son of Peter and Mary Wiebe (both deseased), he was raised in a loving of family of 11. Helen (deceased), Peter (deceased), Betty, (deceased) Mary, Tina, Elma, Bill, Ray, Ron and Evelyn. They moved to a farm in Baggot Manitoba where Ike's love of horses began.

In 1962 he married Marianne Thiessen (deceased) and had two children. Dwight and Dawn. Ike was mainly in sales throughout his working career but never lost his love for horses. In1973 the family moved from Regina to an acreage near Davin, Saskatchewan where he was able to fully embrace country living while still working in the city. He lived near a Hutterite Colony and in his heart became one of them.

Later in life, after moving back to Regina, he discovered his second career as a commissionaire. He loved every aspect and was proud to be the first non-military man accepted. He especially loved working at the airport where he could see people as they came and went, City Hall and Sherwood RM. In the last few years he started teaching and found a new passion.

After Marianne passed away he attended a ministry called Grief Share. After going through the program he became a facilitator for many years and it was there he met Eileen. He was also involved in anything relating to missions and was able to rally many people around causes he was interested in.

In 2007 he married, Eileen Wideman, and welcomed two more daughters into his heart, Holly and Amy.

Ike loved meeting new people, staying in contact with old friends, horses, planning reunions, teasing and loving his 100+ nieces and nephews (and countless other kids), horses, Mennonite cooking, getting a good deal or discount anywhere...... and of course, did I mention - Ike loved horses and would ride whenever he could.

He leaves his wife, Eileen Wiebe; his son Dwight (& Gemma) grandson, Daniel; his daughters Dawn (& Mark), Amy (& Mike), Holly (& Eric) and grandson, Luke.  Many relatives, close friends, his dog Jakey and horse Lucky.

A Memorial Service will be held at Parliament Community Church, 4011 Pasqua Street, Monday, July 9 at 1:00.
