Obituary of Tony Ripplinger
~~Tony Ripplinger
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear Dad. Tony passed away peacefully on October 21, 2017. He is re-united with our Mom, Coreen who passed away in 2016. Tony was born May 7, 1933 on the family farm near Kendal. He was the 12th of 16 children born to Stephen and Catherine Ripplinger. Tony is survived by his siblings Fr. Steve Ripplinger, Bernie Ripplinger, Edwin Ripplinger and Bernadette Agi. Memories will be cherished by his children, Donna (Archie) Magyar, Rita (Jon) Schubert, Allan (Karen) Ripplinger, Glenn (Giselle) Ripplinger, Bonnie (Doug) Conley, Diana (Dean) Kraemer, Connie (Royce) Gaebel; 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Dad was fiercely proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His family was always his highest priority. He was the glue that kept his extended family together. His home was always open to his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Dad was a very hard worker throughout his life. He was a Regina City Bus Driver for many years, a job he enjoyed because he loved to meet and serve people. He worked additional jobs to ensure we had all our needs met and we always had great summer vacations. Dad and Mom took the family from coast to coast over the years. Together they built the home that we grew up in. They travelled with their 5th wheel from the most Northern point of Alaska to most Southern Point of the Florida Keys. They enjoyed winters in Arizona, travelled to Europe, Cuba, Mexico and Dominican Republic. After his retirement Tony volunteered many hours each week to various organizations. He was passionate about his work with Spiritual Care at the Pasqua Hospital and in Long Term Care facilities. Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Little Flower R.C. Church, 420 College Ave., Regina, SK with Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Little Flower R.C. Parish, with Rev. Jose Periyilkatte as Celebrant. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
