Obituary of John W. Martin

1938 - 2017
John passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017. John’s memory will be cherished by his wife Irene; daughter Hollie (Scott); son Johnnie; grandsons Rorey, Taylor and Jonathon; great grandsons Kane and Orion; brother Doug (Vicky); sister Lorraine (Jerry) and their families as well as numerous nephews, nieces and their extended families. John played softball and was well known for his controlled windmill pitching. He loved his sports and played them all with passion including hockey, bowling, curling, darts and even fun football. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and really enjoyed Standardbred horse racing, in particular the horses he owned, leased and trained. He was a loyal fan of all sports especially the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs and never missed watching a game. John was a conversationalist; he enjoyed talking to everyone and anyone on all topics. At John’s request there will be no service. There will be a private family burial at the Yorkton City Cemetery, Yorkton, SK.
