Iris Elizabeth Besler (nee Schick), our best friend, wife, mother and grand mother, passed away on Wednesday August 9, 201. Iris is mourned by her husband Bill Besler; son Shawn (Eva Marshall) Besler; son  Jamie Besler;  daughter Kimberley Besler; granddaughter Kelsey (Kyle Mader) Besler-Smith; grandson Derrick (Teagyn VanDorpe) Besler-Smith; sister Gail (Garry) Calcutt; sister and best friend Sharon (Eric)Neal; family friends Greg  and Linda (Nymann)Kearns. Iris was Aunt and Great Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Iris is predeceased by her parents Jacob and Rose Schick: Bill's parents Bill and Patricia Besler; and sister Marlene (David) Goretzky. Iris was born January 1, 1945 and was raised on the family farm at Lemberg, SK. Later, she attended high school in Melville, SK where she met her husband Bill. They settled in Regina where they raised their three children. After many years of being a stay at home mom, Iris began work at Pioneer Village and the Ramada Hotel and remained there until her retirement. Iris was the happiest taking care of her family and spending time with her loved ones. Camping, fishing and playing cards were among her favorite activities.Iris will always be known for her kindness and sweetness. She touched many lives. Iris was not only a loving and caring mother and wife, but a true, loyal best friend to her husband, children and grand children. She was a second Mom to many. Her smile will be forever cherished and deeply missed. True to Iris' character, there will be no "fuss" of a service. A Celebration of her life for close family and friends will be held at a later date. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Regina Pasqua Hospital ICU for their exceptional care of her.
