Obituary of Clara Alvina Rubin
Clara Alvina Rubin
It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Clara on April 20, 2017 at the age of 95 years. Mom was born on Sept. 21, 1921 in the booming metropolis of Krupp, SK, the third child of eleven to Samuel and Helga Kobberstad. Mom was raised on the family farm near Richmound, SK receiving her education at Prospect Valley School. She moved to Medicine Hat, AB where she met and married her husband Joseph Rubin in 1944, they relocated to Regina in 1947. Mom worked for many years at Sears and then The Bay retiring in 1986. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph, sister Ruth, brothers Vernon, Clifford, Gordon, Alvin and Victor. She is survived by her son Gordon, sisters Evelyn and Lillian and brothers Roald (Theresa) and Lloyd (Pearl), many nieces and nephews as well as cousins in Norway. A graveside service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff of the MSU and Palliative Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital for the wonderful and compassionate care she received. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Regina Palliative Care & Bereavement Centre #200 – 2150 Scarth St., Regina, SK S4P 2H7 or a charity of your choice.
In Loving Memory
