Obituary of Bill Winter

Bill Winter July 20, 1942 - February 7, 2017 Our much loved Bill was best friend and husband to Keitha, best Dad to Brad (Mista) and Jason (Heather) and most of all best Papa to James (Chanda), Isaac (Kayla), Evie, Prairie and Dash. He is also survived by two sisters, Ruth Perry and Penny Mymryk (Frank) and brother, Autumn (Francisca), many nieces and nephews and many, many friends. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Ruth Winter. Bill was born and raised in Regina, attended Albert and Scott Schools and had a long career of 38 years at MacMillan Bloedel Lumber. He retired at 55 to start his own renovation/flooring/siding business and worked tirelessly for another 15+ years. While always hard working, he found time to faithfully go to the YMCA, compete in triathlons, a marathon and many 1/2 marathons, all the while making new friends and supporting others. There were also many ski trips with friends and family over the years that will be remembered, I’m sure with a few laughs. Bill was also an avid Rider fan. The better part of the last four winters were spent RVing in Yuma where he took up golf again with old and new friends. We also enjoyed our RV the last few summers at Indian Head. But most of all, he just wanted to be with his family that he loved so much. At Bill’s request, there will be no funeral. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the General Hospital, Palliative Care and 3B at Pasqua Hospital and Grace Hospice. We also would like to thank the volunteers at Palliative Care.
