Audrey May Haidenger It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Audrey May Haidenger. Mom passed away on the morning of October 10, 2015 in Moose Jaw, SK. Mom was born on August 8, 1936 in the Vanscoy area. Growing up on the farm, she attended Minnesota School, worked in a bakery, as a nanny and on the farm. On April 4, 1959 she married her best friend Ivan Haidenger. They resided in Kindersley, Vanscoy and moved to the farm in 1964. Mom worked on the farm raising and caring for her 5 children and also for her mom, Grandma Vermeulen. Mom’s love of gardening fed her family and her friends as well as winning awards. Mom enjoyed bowling and bingo. Mom’s passion was volunteer work with John Dolan and advocating for all people with Special Needs. When dad passed away in December 1991, Mom and Debbie moved into Saskatoon. There she grew her garden and continued to be the voice of Debbie and the friends she cared so much for. After securing a great home for our special sister, Mom moved to Moose Jaw in August 2013. There she was able to love and watch her great grandchildren grow as well as making friends in her new home. She spent many hours watching curling, the Blue Jays and the Riders, as well as participating in all activities at Chez Nous. Audrey was predeceased by her husband, Ivan on December 6, 1991; her son, Franklin on May 4, 1999; her parents, Frank and Anna Vermeulen and brothers, Tony and Bud Vermeulen. She is loved and remembered by her son, Delbert (Cindy) of Penticton, B.C. and their children, Brayden and Michella; son Franklin’s children, Tanya and Tammie of Edmonton, AB; daughter, Dianne (Bruce) Wight of Belle Plaine, SK and their children, Shane, Cory and Ashley (Kyle) Harrower; son Philip of Saskatoon, SK and his children, Justin and Jeremy; daughter, Debbie of Saskatoon, SK; great grandchildren, Madalynn, Emma, Julia and Alayna; as well as many sisters in law, nephews and nieces; special friends, Barb and Russ Snow of Saskatoon, SK and Christal Hitchings of Asquith, SK. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, October 23, 2015 at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 1202 Ave O South, Saskatoon, SK with Fr. Marvin as Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saskatchewan Alternative Initiatives (SAI), 301 – 115 2nd Ave. N., Saskatoon, SK, S7K 2B1
