Obituary of Emily Woodward

Emily Loreata Marguerite Woodword Emily Woodward (nee Stewart) was born on June 3, 1914 in Mervin, SK, the youngest of eight children, passed away on October 17, 2015. She remembers her childhood as a happy time with friends, family, school and music. In 1932 she married Leonard Woodward and moved to Regina where her only son, Gary Woodward was born in 1933. Some will remember Emily as the head librarian at the Prince of Wales Library on Broder Street where she worked until her retirement in 1979. Emily enjoyed reading, sewing and visiting her northern family in the Turtleford area. She had a passion for learning about health food and keeping up on world events by reading the newspaper daily and listening to CBC radio. Emily lived independently in her home on Horace Street until the age of 93 when she became a resident of Santa Maria Senior Citizens home where she lived and enjoyed life for her remaining 8 years. Emily is loved and will be missed by her family and friends Shelley and Brian Page; Sian and Raymond Ho; Andrea, Derek, Reese and Sam Derow; Eric, Angela, Emma and Lila Page; David Page; Lois and Dennis Painchaud; Doug and Lynne Nordell; Del and Leslie Nordell; Sandy and Ron Noyes; Bunny and Gary Semenchuck and the staff at Santa Maria. Emily was predeceased by her loving son, Gary Woodward in 2005. A Gathering in Memory of Emily will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home in the Activity Room, 4215 Regina Ave., Regina, SK.
