Obituary of William Lekness
Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
William (Bill) Lekness
It is with heavy hearts, we as a family, announce the passing of Bill Lekness of Regina. Bill was born on May 8, 1956 and passed away the morning of November 5, 2016 at the age of 60 years after a courageous battle with cancer. Bill will be deeply missed by Christine, his loving wife of 35 years; their 2 daughters, Nikole (Gustavo) Lekness and Kristen (Ryan) McGavigan. Bill’s pride and joy were his 3 little buddies, Rylee, Kiva and Noah who will greatly miss their grandpa and all the times they were able to share together. Also left to cherish Bill’s memory are his Mom and Dad, Chris and Ida Lekness; his sister Wendy (Gerald) Romich; niece Ashlee Romich; Christine’s family; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. We also can’t forget to mention Bill’s 2 fur buddies, Milly and Emmy who were a very special part of his life. Bill was raised and attended school in Govan, SK. Upon graduating grade 12, he moved to Regina where soon after he met Christine. Bill worked a couple of small jobs before starting his career in 1979 on the railroad with CN. He retired in 2011. Besides working at CN, Bill took great pride and enjoyment in his lawn care business where he maintained a long lasting relationship with these clients. During his retirement, along with maintaining his yards, Bill enjoyed spending time with the morning coffee crew and looked forward to his breakfast outings with his good friends. A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 in the Multipurpose Hall at the Northwest Leisure Centre, 1127 N Arnason St., Regina, SK. This will be a gathering to honour the amazing man Bill was. All of those whose lives he touched are welcome to attend. We would like to extend a huge thank you to the “Earth Angels” who work on 3B at the Pasqua Hospital. Bill’s love for his family was undeniable. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you take an extra moment of your time to spend with a loved one. Time waits for no one.
