Obituary of Bruce Melvin McGough
In Loving Memory of
Bruce Melvin McGough
1953 - 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bruce Melvin McGough on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the age of 71. Bruce was born in Swift Current to Susie and Stanley McGough. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers Gary and Randy; sister Patsy; niece Krysta; and step-grandson Taylor.
Bruce is lovingly remembered by his wife, Wendy; his children Tyler (Cherisse) and Tiffany (Mike); stepchildren Michael (Shauna) and Lindsay (Graeme); siblings Marlene, Mark (Teresa), Greg, and Sheldon (Sandy). He was a proud grandfather to Tia, Bre, Tristen, and Axten, step-grandchildren Chandler and Orianna and his great step-grandchild, Ezmae.
Bruce was known for his exceptional skills in carpentry and home renovations. He built his first family home in Swift Current, a project he took great pride in. Later in life, Bruce worked alongside his wife, Wendy, on their home together, completing many home improvement projects over the years. Bruce’s meticulous work and thoughtful advice were always appreciated by those around him. Whether it was home renovations, smoking meats for family meals or simply offering guidance, his expertise and generosity in helping others were a hallmark of his character.
In addition to his hands-on work, Bruce spent much of his career with the Department of Highways. He also pursued real estate as a second career. In his retirement, Bruce found fulfillment as an EnerGuide Evaluator and worked with Certified Labs - making sales, traveling across the same highways he had once helped maintain.
Bruce’s positive attitude, strong work ethic, and kind spirit left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He had a natural ability to make friends and connect with people. Whether relaxing on the deck, having long phone conversations, or sharing a good laugh, Bruce’s warmth, humor, and love for life brightened the lives of all who knew him.
Bruce will be deeply missed but will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Graveside Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Ernfold Cemetery, Ernfold, SK, followed by a reception at the Chaplin Town Hall. A Celebration of Bruce’s Life will be held at the Serbian Club, 2775 Avonhurst Dr., Regina, SK on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m.
