Obituary of Ronald Herman Stronach

Please share a memory of Ronald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Ronald Herman Stronach, a devoted father, grandfather, brother, friend and partner, after he passed away on November 9, 2024 at the age of 71. Ron was born in The Hague, Netherlands in 1952 and immigrated to Moose Jaw, Canada in 1953. He is predeceased by his parents Ann, Herman, James (stepfather) and his brother Joe. Ron is survived by his children Shane (Sarah) and Lesley (Adam). Ron was a proud grandfather and left to celebrate his life are Ava (Carter), Harper and Hutton. Ron will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Jess (Dave) and Marilyn (Ken); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and special friend Marilyn.

Ron was a man of multiple talents and re-invented himself many times. He loved working as an electrician and relished in finishing large construction projects. He received his journeyman's ticket and started his own company. When he was no longer able to do that due to illness, he reinvented himself as an electronics technician by earning his diploma from SIAST in his 40s and eventually helped to manage the building of Sasktel Mobility cell towers.

An avid fisherman, Ron never met a fish that he didn’t want to try to catch (or eat)!  He loved being outside and on the water and was always ready for a boat ride. Ron’s love for water was passed onto his kids and grandchildren. Ron’s love for outdoors also played well with his photography hobby and captured many special landscapes and family moments.  He loved cheering for his Riders, Blue Jays or Packers and would dutifully watch all games. He loved going to football games with best friends Blaine and Donna.

Ron was a devoted grandparent who watched all his grandchildren’s events. He was always incredibly supportive and aimed to be a positive influence for his grandkids.  Ron was also a devout Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus.  Additionally, a lover of animals, Ron’s best pooches Jake and Ruby were his constant companions.

Most importantly, Ron was a kind and gentle soul who made friends wherever he went. He was a survivor who didn’t let unlucky health circumstances dampen his enthusiasm for life. He was an amazing man who will be missed by all.

Our family would like to thank the Palliative Care team at the Regina Pasqua Hospital for the assistance they provided.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Regina Humane Society.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
