Obituary of Yvonne Arlene Solie

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Yvonne Solie announce her passing on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at the age of 71.

Yvonne was predeceased by her parents Henry and Lucille Mazenc; father-in-law Joseph Solie; mother-in-law Rita Solie; sister Helene Woitas; and brothers-in-law George Dolak and James Smith. She will be lovingly cherished and remembered by her best friend and devoted husband of 50 years, Vernon Solie; children Reena (Skip) Legien, Bret (Ashlee) Solie, and Mallory Solie (Russell Siebert).  Yvonne also leaves behind her grandchildren that meant the world to her, Nolan (Kenley) Legien, Layne, Kasey and Ricki Jay Legien; Jase and Presley Solie, Sierra and Brooklyn Siebert, and Lincoln and Acelyn Bezan; as well as two great-grandchildren, Rowan and Rawley Legien.  She leaves behind her sisters, Henriette Dolak, Lorraine Smith, and Rosanne (Don) Van De Sype; brother Renald Mazenc; sister-in-law Darlene Solie; and brother-in-law Dave Woitas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Yvonne loved to spend her days in the garden both on the farm and at the lake.  When she wasn’t spending endless hours there, she would be often found in the kitchen canning or baking.  Yvonne was an amazing cook and all the grandchildren looked forward to her chocolate chip cookies and butter horns.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Palliative Home Care Services including her wonderful nurse, Vanessa and all the nurses at the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday October 23, 2024 at Craven Community Centre, 7 Tennant Street, Craven, SK. Donations in honour of Yvonne may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic. Online messages of condolence may be left at www.paragonfuneralservices.com
