Obituary of Sharon Joyce Williams

Please share a memory of Sharon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Sharon Joyce Williams (nee Towriss) was born on September 17, 1939 and entered her heavenly home on October 11, 2024.  Her family, including her husband of 66 years, Garnet; and her sons, David and Scot, encouraged her as she crossed the finish line and heard the words “well done, my faithful servant”.

Sharon was born in Moose Jaw, SK., and was the oldest child of Bill and Gladys Towriss (nee Heron).  She spent her early years on the family ranch just outside of Moose Jaw, and later on the family ranch near Caron, Sk. In 1958, Sharon married the love of her life, later moving to Regina where they continued to live until her passing.

Those who knew Sharon know that her family was her passion.  She loved watching her grandkids and great-grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. The Williams clan grew to include David’s wife, Kim and their children Melissa (James), Kristin (Matthew) and Kevin (Allison); and Scot’s wife, Marilyn and their children Andrew (Kirsten) and Benjamin (Amy).  Sharon’s great-grandchildren were her pride and joy, and include Sommer, Britton, Cohen, Eleanor, Vivienne, Evangeline, Garnet, Ivy, Maeby, Ella and Kai.

Sharon dedicated many decades of her life to her profession as a Realtor and New Home Sales Consultant with Crawford Home Ltd. & Homelife Crawford Realty, and later Trademark Homes Inc. & Royal LePage Regina Realty. She had an unbelievable skill to connect with others and build lasting relationships with her clients. Sharon loved driving down the streets of Regina and sharing stories about the homes she built and sold. She was an active member of Living Hope Alliance Church (previously Hillsdale Alliance Church) and loved attending church weekly with her family. Sharon was often found introducing herself to newcomers as “Grandma Sharon” and made everyone feel welcome. Sharon had a love for travel and trips. She travelled all over the world and even in her mid 80’s she loved driving on road trips or flying to see her kids & grandchildren in the USA. Her favourite place to spend an afternoon or warm summer’s night was at her granddaughter Melissa’s acreage. She referred to it as her happy place and her little slice of heaven.

Sharon was predeceased by her parents; brother Robert; brother-in-law Hartley Smith; and grand-niece Kira Stadnyk. She is also survived by her sisters Moira Towriss-Smith and Rosalie Marcil (Rene); and her sister-in-law Muriel Towriss. Sharon will be missed by many special cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
