Obituary of Mona Ann Code

It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Mona Ann Code (nee St John) on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 in Regina, SK at the age of 90 years.

Mona was originally from Brock, SK and attended High School in Kindersley, then went on to get a Degree in Nursing at the University of Saskatchewan. Mom was a passionate nurse and made many contributions to nursing during her career such as teaching at Kelsey Campus in Saskatoon and working on developing Home Care through her office in Rosetown.

Mona was married to Earl Code, who predeceased her in 2017, and they farmed for 63 years by Rosetown, SK. Mona and Earl had two daughters Barbara (Ian) and Linda (Kerry). Mona was very supportive of her daughters going to university and encouraged them to achieve their degrees as Mona was always passionate about education. Mona had four grandchildren Trevor, Ryan (predeceased her in 2024), Amanda (Justin) and Shane (Maddy). In her final years she had the joy of great-grandchildren Madisyn, Flora, Mylah and Atlas. Mona spent 20 winters when she retired in Arizona, and loved golfing, tennis and spending time with her family and friends. In life, Mona loved her parents, sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews, and was especially close with Bev and Joan. Mom enjoyed spending time with her nursing friends from school and was kind and caring to all that knew her. It is with the utmost respect and love that we send her home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024 at Eastside United Church, 3018 Doan Dr., Regina, SK, with coffee, snacks and fellowship to follow. We would all like to thank and acknowledge Mona’s grandson Ryan Code for his care of Mom during the last years of her life. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Mom's beloved Eastside United Church that brought her great joy.
