We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Waldemar "Wally" Peter Schellenberg on Saturday, September 21, 2024, one day after his 87th birthday.

 

Wally was born on September 20, 1937 in Drumheller, AB to Peter Schellenberg and Louise Wiens. He grew up on a farm outside of Kindersley, SK. Wally met his loving wife, Alice Bjornson, in Kindersley and they were married on June 11, 1960 and remained devoted to each other for 64 years spending virtually all of those years in Regina.

 

Wally was a tax auditor for the Federal Government for several years and later worked as a dealer at the Exhibition Casino in Regina. Wally loved animals, singing (especially with the Twilighters), the Roughriders and the Blue Jays, playing cards, investing and debating politics.

 

Wally was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Gert. Left to mourn are his wife, Alice; daughters, Janette (Kim) and Karen (Scott); grandchildren, Farrah, Jake, Joel (Jess), Alyssa (Brandon), Kade (Veronica) and Tim (Jennelle); 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, David (Maryann), Arnold (Phyllis) and Val (Mike); and his brother-in-law Fred (Betty Jean).

A Funeral Service with be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Westhill Baptist Church, 8025 Sherwood Drive, Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan.
