Karl Henry Weisbrod
1924-2024
Karl passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2024 in Regina, SK at the age of 100. He was predeceased by the love of his life Elsie (nee Ermel) in 2021; brothers Jake, John, Phillip (in infancy); and sister Irene Wagner. Karl is survived by his son Barry; daughter Faye (Jim) Ursaki; granddaughter Haley (Tim) Solie; grandson Aaron Ursaki; great-grandchildren Seanna, Irelyn and Chase; great-great-granddaughter Phoenix; sister Rose Wagner; brother-in law Norman (Joyce) Ermel; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Karl was born in Disley, SK on June 5, 1924. He married Elsie Ermel on October 8, 1944 and spent a wonderful 76 years on the farm together. Karl and Elsie enjoyed getting together with friends and family, often found playing cards or sharing their love of music. Karl and Elsie were in the “Good Timers Orchestra” with Elsie’s cousin Louis Schwartz and Karl’s brother John. Karl had a passion for baseball playing in his younger days and even went to bat in a slo pitch tournament well into his 80’s.
The family would like to thank the staff at William Booth Special Care Home, Brightwater Senior Living and the doctors and nurses on units 3D & 3A Palliative Care at the Pasqua Hospital for their care and compassion.
A Private Family Graveside service will be held at the Disley Cemetery. A Celebration of Life for both Karl & Elsie will be held at a later date.
In Loving Memory
Karl Weisbrod
