ANNIE HELEN “HAFIA” FEDIUK

December 11, 1931 - August 7, 2024

Annie passed away peacefully at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre at the age of 92, in Regina, SK.

Annie is survived by her brother Mervin Fediuk (Lorna - deceased) of Pembroke ON; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Katryna “Kay” Fediuk; father Andro Fediuk; siblings John, Peter, Olga and Sylvia and their spouses.

Annie was born in Wimmer, SK, a miracle baby at just 2 1/2 lbs., and was raised by her mother, with her five brothers and sisters, in Spalding, SK.  Her strength, perseverance and approach to life were nurtured by the love of her mother.  Annie had a very special relationship with her mother, and her teachings and values had significant impact in how Annie lived her life.

Annie worked for many years at the Simpsons warehouse in Regina, leaving to care for her mother when she became ill.  Following her mother's death, Annie worked in a variety of jobs before opting to combine work with some travel taking on seasonal cook/housekeeper positions for farmers in western Canada, and spending time traveling with her sister, Sylvia.

In about 2005, Annie returned to Regina, enjoying retirement.  She had a strong focus on healthy living, loved to walk daily and maintained her independence. Living on her own with the support of her friends, the Sinnett family, until her recent hospitalization following a fall at home in July.

As a single woman, trusted friends were valued and important in Anne's life.  Clarice Mears, her childhood best friend, growing up together in Spalding and Laura Seidlitz, her friend and co-worker in Regina for 70 years, were family to her.

Thank you to the care teams at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre and Unit 4A at Pasqua Hospital for the exceptional care and kindness provided during Annie's last weeks.

Per her wishes, Annie will be buried with her mother at the Dovre Lutheran Cemetary in Spalding, SK.  A Graveside Service will be held at a later date, for family and close friends.
